There is a lot of talk these days about "the universe" and a "higher power.” This trend is a way for some entrepreneurs to appeal to more people. But listen, friends, we are not called to be all things to all people. Instead, be 100% honest about who you are and what you believe. Don’t afraid or ashamed and don’t water it down. Listen in as we discuss this more! I also have a challenge for you this week. Report back and let me know what you think!
Social media has made growing a business online easier than ever before. But if you want social media to serve you well, you have to have a certain level of vulnerability in your posts and on your feed. I know it is scary. I know some of you hide behind your products and business because you are fearful of what will happen when you put yourself out there. Spoiler alert—you will get negative feedback and of course it will hurt and upset you! BUT you will also get a larger following, devoted fans, and so much more in return. Lots talk more about...
Last week something happened…I was triggered by a Facebook comment. AND I took the bait and replied! Guys, I know better, but this is a lesson I still sometimes have to revisit and I bet some of you do too. When we feel attacked and embarrassed we can be triggered to react. Instead, we should see areas where we may need to grow and let God handle the rest.
Have you ever thought about being an author? Have you ever wondered what it takes or what process to follow? Today, I am talking with my friend, Brian Dixon, about the 6 steps to take to go from being a writer to an author. He not only has a fascinating story but also amazing advice on everything from how to best use your time to mending broken relationships. We are also talking about his new book, Start With Your People. It will remind you relationships are key and knowing, loving, and serving your people is where it all begins.
Recently I was very convicted about something I have said many times to my kids. I have often asked them to "be easy." But the Holy Spirit showed me there is something better than being easy—instead, I should say be obedient and be holy. As an easy adult who was an easy child, I am realizing that being easy has led to being a people-pleaser, being wounded and not saying anything, and avoiding all confrontation. My conviction is that we are called to be holy, which may look like standing up or speaking out! Where this week do you need to be holy instead of being easy?
Have you ever wanted to get to a certain goal, but it just takes so long that you are ready to give up? And meanwhile, it seems like all those around you are just flying achieving goals left and right. Well, friends, I want you to understand that the messy middle is where we can learn the most! I have been trying to reach 1 million downloads on this podcast for 2.5 years! Six months ago when things were looking like it would still take a long time, I doubled down my efforts and look where I am now! We made it! I want you to find enCOURAGEment, be consistent, and double down your efforts. You have no idea how close you are to a break though!

There are times in our lives when God closes a door and pushes you to a new season. When that happens, we need to purge the things of the past—old ways of thinking, old tools, old habits. We also need to be very aware of people who may try to keep us stuck or suck us back into our old season. If you know darn good and well that you are ready for a new season, listen in close! My hope is that this is just the encouragement you need to make it happen!!
I love talking with business owners who are rocking it and can encourage others with their progress. This week my conversation with Cara Massie does just that. Cara has been in business for no quite a year but is getting things done. She hit the ground running and has used what she learned in my Inner Circle trainings, as well as the Inner Circle community, to advance her business and set herself up for some serious success in year two! She is consulting, getting booked on TV, blogging, and growing her social media audience! Listen in to hear all about it and let it motivate you to do the same.

I spoke at my Equipped Conference last May about Moses mentality. We can learn so much from Moses. He gave God 5 reasons why he was not qualified and why God should not use him. But God said no, you've got this and went on to use him to do great things. I hope this encourages you to look past all the feelings of inadequacy and press on. The cry of our heart should be here I am God, use me!!!
I have talked before about why every business owner needs a business a coach, but on this episode, I am specifically talking about how to pick a coach. There are some key factors like looking at where the coach is in their business journey and checking to make sure your values align that are so important when deciding who you will follow. Listen in to hear the rest of my advice!

Today I want to talk to you about the importance of remembering and recording all the good things God has done for you. There are 2 scriptures in the book of Psalms (9:1 and 103:2) that I encourage you to study. In times we when are struggling or frustrated, we need to be able to look back at all the blessings we have been given, God's kind and marvelous works. Instead of only focusing on writing down your goals or to-do lists, focus on writing down how good God has been to you each day!
This week I am continuing my Behind the Scenes at Team Allwood series by talking with my Executive Project Manager, Jenna Kenyon. This is, of course, a great talk for anyone looking to hire a project manager or be hired as a project manager. However, there is also really good information to help with any working relationships—boss/employee, co-worker, etc. I hope you truly benefit from this backstage pass look at Team Allwood!
