I am so grateful to God that he has given me 50 years of life. And since my 50th birthday is tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to give you five things I wish I would have known when I started my entrepreneurship journey. I've been an entrepreneur for 21 years, and have learned soooo much that I can't wait to share with you today!

Hit the Highlights

(04:39) How I started my entrepreneurship journey.

(12:37) Why health is important to your business.

(18:01) Go all-in on how God has wired you.

(20:32) Don't build a business you don't actually love.

(24:02) Not everyone is for you.

(30:24) Trust your gut, even early on.

5 Things I Wish I Would Have Known

  • As you are building your business, pay close attention to your health.
  • Stay true to who you are.
  • Your peace is priceless.
  • Some people will not be for you, and some people will leave you.
  • Always trust your gut.

These last few weeks I've learned I need to hold things loosely. I'm not gonna lie, it's been a rough time! I was talking about this last week in my coaching group and telling them about all the plans I have for my 50th birthday and my beach house finally closing. These are all really exciting plans, but I know I need to hold them loosely. This past month taught me that when we are in a season of vulnerability, we realize how little control we actually have.  Our security has to come from Heaven because very few things on this side of Heaven are permanent. So today I want to give you encouragement for holding things loosely.

Was your personal or business Facebook account disabled? Or maybe your reach is tanking or all your stats are down - I call that "Facebook jail". In this podcast, I am giving you some common reasons people go to "Facebook jail" and how to avoid these mistakes to keep your account in good standing!

Hit the Highlights

(03:43) Here are the reasons why you could be in Facebook jail.

(12:13) What to do if you get put in Facebook jail.

(12:53) How long does Facebook jail last?

(14:26) How to contact someone to get out of Facebook jail.

Reasons Why You Could Be in Facebook Jail

  • If you are commenting the same comment over and over or posting a link over and over. Don't copy and paste comments. You look like a robot and might go to Facebook jail.
  • You are using a different name than your name in real life. (Don't use your nickname or business name for your personal account)
  • You are using your personal Facebook page to post about your biz. You need to have a business Facebook page for that!
  • Bullying, using hate language, talking about things that are highly controversial. (depending on how you word it).
  • You are saying things like "comment below" "tag your friend" "covid"
  • You did something that violates someone else's rights, including their intellectual property rights. Putting your name on something and not giving credit.
  • Your credit card has expired for your ads account.

In this life, we will have trouble. There will be battles, warfare, and resistance. This is one of the reasons I'm drawn to war movies. There's something about watching a story about good and evil that reminds me to take the territory that God has given to me. When we have a business calling from God, it's tempting to play small and not go into the territory he has for us. But God wants us to rely on him when we are going through hard or scary times. Friend, be encouraged that He has completely protected.

Sometimes it takes going through something hard to find a new level of compassion than what you had before. My hair loss is a perfect example of that! The bible talks about how a woman's hair is her crown of glory. I know that God cares about the intimate details of my life. He cares about things that have been taken from us, even hair!  When I think about the last couple of weeks with Jason's broken hip, it feels like we have had time and resources stolen from us.  If there is something in your life that you feel the enemy has stolen from you or your business partner or being wrongfully accused, I want to give you some verses for you to cling to during the tough times.

"Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house." (Proverbs 6:31)

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten— the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm—my great army that I sent among you. (Joel 2:25)

It hurts my heart to see people spend so much time in energy into building their business, only to not launch their product, membership, or blog. Sometimes it's reasons like life or family stuff, but most of the time it comes down to good-old-fashioned fear. But where did that fear of failing come from? When we understand WHY we do the things that we do, then we can make a shift. When you know better you do better. I want to go over three main reasons why you might be so scared to fail in business. Because when you are an entrepreneur, failure WILL come. But friend, you are not your business. You have worth and value apart from your business.

Hit the Highlights

(04:17) Oftentimes pivoting and shifting is a fear-based response.

(05:57) Private failures become public spectacles.

(07:36) The opinion of man in a snare. (Psalm 29:25)

(09:24) If you are trapped, so is your spouse.

(11:40) Why you may be scared of making the wrong decision.

(17:50) Where feelings of unworthiness come from.

3 Main Reasons Why People Don't Want to Fail

  • Other people will see your failure.
  • You are worried about perceived punishment.
  • Failure will confirm how we already feel about ourselves.
